enclosed perimeter of the fortress, Belgrade Fortress is also known as
-”The Kalemegdan fortress”.
The name Kalemegdan comes from Turkish: kale (in English - fortress) and
megdan (in English – Battlefield) (“Battlefield Fortress”).
